Research Priorities:

Social determinants of health ( poverty, income, social activity, social class, education, health literacy, discrimination, gender, race, ethnicity, language, minority, place of residence, immigration, religion, occupation, stress, addiction, food, access And the use of primary health services, urbanization, marginalization, violence, health care and social and lifestyle support) play a much larger role than biologic factors in human health and well-being.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that most of these factors are not understood and not converted to demand, they have been neglected. The mission of the Social Determinants of Health Research Center is to pay attention to these determinants, so as to contribute to community research by community engagement and the production of the knowledge needed to preserve and promote the general health of the community. In this regard, the Center research priorities are as follows:

  •  Social factors associated with contagious diseases
  •  community health needs assessment
  •  Social factors associated with accidents
  •  Social issues related to mental health
  •  Social issues related to the mental health of children and adolescents
  •  Participation and empowerment of the community in health
  •  Social factors related to quality of life
  •  Justice in health
